The ‘JAG’ Cast Today: Some Stars Are No Longer With Us

by Dana Daly

Published October 19, 2026

The cast of 'JAG' then and now

For ten seasons, JAG meant crisp dress whites, roaring fighter jets and a courtroom where every case had a twist. The show premiered on NBC on September 23, 1995. The network let it go after one season, but CBS picked it up as a midseason replacement in January 1997. That second chance turned into 227 episodes and a run that lasted until April 2005.

Creator Donald P. Bellisario mixed military law with mystery and a slow-burn romance that viewers followed for years. The show also launched the NCIS franchise, which means its fingerprints are still all over CBS today. One member of the JAG family is no longer with us, and his story comes first. Here is where everyone else landed, saving the two leads for last.

Trevor Goddard joined JAG in 1998 as Lt. Cmdr. Mic Brumby, an Australian naval officer on exchange who became Harm’s rival for Mac’s affection. He appeared in 42 episodes through 2001. Fans of action movies already knew him as Kano in Mortal Kombat, and he also played T. Ray in Deep Rising.

Goddard built his career on an Australian persona, but he was actually born in Croydon, England. His father revealed the truth at his son’s wake in Los Angeles after his son’s death. His final film, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, was released weeks after he died. He played the pirate Grapple.

Sadly, Trevor Goddard was found dead at his North Hollywood home on June 8, 2003. He was 40. According to the Tampa Bay Times, the Los Angeles County coroner later determined that he died of an overdose of heroin, cocaine and prescription drugs. He was born on October 14, 1962, so today would have been his 64th birthday.

Is Andrea Parker Still Alive?

Andrea Parker was the original female lead of JAG. She played Kate Pike in the two-part pilot, then returned for a few guest spots after the producers recast the role of Harm’s partner. Losing that part turned out to be a lucky break. Parker went straight to NBC’s The Pretender, where she spent four seasons as the icy Miss Parker and became a fan favorite.

She later starred in the ABC comedy Less than Perfect and recurred on Desperate Housewives. Younger viewers know her as Jessica DiLaurentis on Pretty Little Liars. Andrea Parker was born on March 8, 1969, which makes her 57 today. She has kept a low profile since her last major series in the mid-2010s.

Is Tracey Needham Still Alive?

Tracey Needham replaced Parker for the first full season, playing Lt. Meg Austin. Before JAG, she was already familiar to TV families as Paige Thatcher on Life Goes On. When CBS revived the show in 1997, the character was written out and Needham moved on.

She landed a starring role as Inspector C.D. DeLorenzo on Lifetime’s The Division and stayed for 66 episodes. Guest spots on CSI, Criminal Minds and Veronica Mars followed. Needham married actor Tommy Hinkley in 1995, and the couple later settled in Colorado, where she grew up. Tracey Needham was born on March 28, 1967. She is 59.

After JAG, he played FBI Deputy Director Sam Cullen on Bones and appeared in the film Gifted. Culp has been working steadily ever since. He played Rex Van de Kamp on Desperate Housewives and House Speaker Jeff Haffley on The West Wing. After JAG, she found two more long-running homes. She played Denise Sherwood on Lifetime’s Army Wives and starred as Cassie Nightingale in Hallmark’s Good Witch films and series from 2008 to 2021. She has also spoken openly about her thyroid cancer diagnosis, which she turned into years of advocacy. In 2019, she reunited with her old co-star on NCIS: Los Angeles.

When fans saw the 2025 JAG cast reunion, Bell answered Labyorteaux’s joke by teasing that the rest of them were coloring their hair. Catherine Bell was born on August 14, 1968, and she is 58. Fans still marvel at how little she seems to have changed.

Elliott kept busy after the finale. He starred on Close to Home and GCB, then played John Wayne in the 2015 film Trumbo.
