The actress cleared up the confusion the following day with an Instagram post. Eden explained that she did not have an illness. Instead, a new medication caused unpleasant side effects, and her doctor advised her to remain home until they could resolve the problem. She called the setback a “speedbump” and said she expected to return to her usual activities once her doctor gave her approval.

Eden’s absence drew extra attention at Cinecon, a celebration of classic film and television stars. Pat Boone, who starred with Eden in All Hands on Deck and The Yellow Canary, still took part in the Cinecon tribute.
Eden turned 95 on Aug. 23, but she has not completely closed the door on acting. She even expressed interest in trying something unexpected, joking that she could play a convincing villain.
