Danny Bonaduce, the former child star who won over audiences as mischievous Danny Partridge on The Partridge Family, celebrated his 67th birthday on August 13. More than five decades have passed since viewers first met the red-haired, wisecracking young actor on the beloved 1970s sitcom.
According to Remind, his life since then has taken him from acting and reality television to professional wrestling and a decades-long career in radio. Danny Bonaduce now lives a much quieter life after retiring from broadcasting and undergoing brain surgery following a serious health diagnosis.
Danny Bonaduce Celebrates His 67th Birthday After Decades In Entertainment
Bonaduce was only 11 when The Partridge Family premiered in 1970. He played Danny Partridge, the family’s bass player and quick-witted middle child, alongside Shirley Jones, David Cassidy, Susan Dey, and other members of the memorable cast. The ABC sitcom ran for four seasons before ending in 1974.

After the series, Bonaduce continued acting and appeared in Corvette Summer with Mark Hamill. He later made guest appearances on shows including CHiPs, Married… with Children, The Drew Carey Show, That ’70s Show, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Eventually, radio became his longest-running career. He worked in several major markets before joining Seattle’s KZOK in 2011. After about 35 years in radio, he retired in December 2023.
The Former Child Star Is Enjoying A Quieter Life After Health Challenges
Bonaduce faced a serious health battle beginning in 2022 when balance and walking problems forced him to leave his radio show. Doctors diagnosed him with normal pressure hydrocephalus, leading to surgery in June 2023. In July 2026, shortly before turning 67, he shared his journey as a keynote speaker at the Hydrocephalus Association’s national conference.
His personal life has also changed considerably since his days as a child star. Bonaduce shares two children, Isabella and Dante, with his second wife, Gretchen Hillmer. The former couple divorced in 2007 after more than 16 years of marriage. He later married Amy Railsback in 2010. Today, Danny Bonaduce now divides his time between Palm Springs and Seattle with Amy. He still connects with longtime followers through social media and occasional appearances, but retirement has allowed him to embrace a slower pace. As he celebrates 67, fans who grew up watching Danny Partridge can look back on the many chapters that followed his days with television’s famous musical family.
