Timothy Busfield Faces Additional Child Sex Abuse Allegations – Actor Allegedly ‘Begged’ For Therapy Instead Of Police

The news of another allegation against Timothy Busfield has once again put the actor in the spotlight for deeply troubling reasons. Known for his work on The West Wing and other acclaimed projects, Busfield has a decades-long career in television and theater, making these developments all the more shocking to fans and colleagues.

Authorities say Timothy Busfield, 68, surrendered to the Albuquerque Police Department on Jan. 13 after a warrant for his arrest was issued days earlier. The warrant alleges that he engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with two boys, and prosecutors are seeking to keep him detained while awaiting trial.

Details of the Allegations Against Timothy Busfield

On Jan. 13, Busfield faced two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse. In a pretrial detention motion filed the next day, prosecutors added a new allegation. They claim that another victim, a 16-year-old girl, reported that Busfield sexually abused her several years ago during auditions at his B Street Theatre in Sacramento. According to People, the girl said he kissed her and touched her inappropriately.

Busfield reportedly asked the family not to involve law enforcement if he agreed to seek therapy, and the girl’s father initially followed that advice. B Street Theatre confirmed that it became aware of the allegation at the time and conducted an internal investigation, emphasizing that Busfield has not participated in the organization’s operations since 2001.

Timothy Busfield’s Response and Ongoing Investigation

Before surrendering, Timothy Busfield posted a video asserting his innocence. He told viewers, “I did not do anything to those little boys, and I’m going to fight it.” Authorities maintain that the alleged conduct represents a sustained pattern of predatory behavior and poses a serious risk to children.

Additional allegations have surfaced over the years, including claims from minors on television sets and past incidents reported in Sacramento and Los Angeles. Prosecutors argue that these incidents show a repeated disregard for the safety of children. As the investigation continues, Timothy Busfield remains in custody, facing multiple charges and ongoing legal scrutiny. The case has drawn national attention, highlighting the complex challenges of investigating alleged sexual abuse in entertainment while emphasizing the need for vigilance and child safety.
