Published October 1, 2025

Candace Cameron Bure has been in the spotlight since childhood, and with that visibility comes constant scrutiny. The Full House star, now 49, recently shared a candid reflection on aging in Hollywood and how comments about her appearance have affected her.

On her podcast, The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast, the actress revealed that while filming a flashback scene for a new movie, a filmmaker suggested digitally altering not only her face but also her neck. The remark surprised her, sparking self-doubt and sending her “back to therapy,” as she admitted with both humor and honesty.

For Candace, the pressure to appear younger is a reality of her profession. She described how post-production technology is often used to reduce lines or smooth features. While she initially joked about the situation, she acknowledged the deeper psychological toll of aging in front of millions. “This is my reality,” she explained, noting that while she loves her work, the scrutiny can be overwhelming.

She also opened up about struggling with the expectations placed on women compared to men in Hollywood. Watching peers undergo cosmetic treatments has made her question her own choices. Yet, she remains determined to navigate the process in her own way, even while admitting she sometimes feels conflicted.

Despite the challenges, Cameron Bure finds encouragement in her fans. She often receives heartfelt messages from those who thank her for aging naturally and avoiding Botox or fillers. These messages remind her that authenticity matters and that she inspires others to feel comfortable in their own skin. “They make me cry,” she confessed, describing the gratitude she feels from her community.

Still, she admitted the pressure lingers. As she continues to work steadily—filming three movies back-to-back this year—the actress knows the question of cosmetic procedures will remain. For now, she chooses honesty and openness, leaving the future undecided. As Cameron Bure put it, she is not ruling anything out, but today, she is committed to facing aging with grace and transparency.
