Maureen McCormick Returns To The ‘Brady Bunch’ House For A Special Cause

by Ruth A

Published September 16, 2025

The Brady Bunch house has long been more than just a backdrop for a sitcom. For millions of viewers, it became a symbol of family, comfort, and nostalgia. Now, decades after the show’s original run, Maureen McCormick—who played Marcia Brady—has found her way back to the iconic split-level home.

During a recent interview at The John Ritter Foundation’s Evening from the Heart Gala, McCormick revealed that she visited the Brady Bunch house again, this time with a very heartfelt mission. She brought members of Best Buddies, a nonprofit that promotes inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to tour the home. For McCormick, who has long supported the organization, sharing this special place with them was deeply meaningful.

According to Yahoo! Entertainment, this was McCormick’s first visit since HGTV’s 2023 renovation unveiled the reimagined home. Purchased by the network in 2018, the house was meticulously redesigned to match the beloved interior fans saw on screen, complete with its unforgettable orange and avocado kitchen. Though only the exterior had been used during the show’s filming, the careful makeover transformed it into a full replica of the Brady family set.

Reflecting on her time with the cast, McCormick shared that it was the relationships—not just the home—that shaped her memories. Having grown up with three brothers, she cherished the chance to gain two “sisters” through her television family. That bond, she explained, made her years on The Brady Bunch unforgettable.

McCormick also understands why the series continues to resonate. The Brady Bunch house remains a tangible piece of television history, while the show itself offered joy and escape for generations of fans. She expressed gratitude for having been part of something that brought lasting happiness to so many people.

Her own journey after the show included struggles with depression and substance abuse, which she later overcame by beginning a sobriety path in 1985. She married actor Michael Cummings that same year, and the couple has remained devoted to each other for nearly four decades. Alongside family life, McCormick kept her career diverse, from guest roles on classic TV shows to appearances on modern programs like The Masked Singer and Dancing with the Stars.
