Frank Sinatra remains one of the most celebrated voices in American history. Fans often focus on his romances and Hollywood lifestyle, but the smaller details reveal a different side of him. One of those details was his sweet tooth. Out of all the treats available, Frank Sinatra’s favorite candy was the simple, chocolatey Tootsie Roll.

According to Yahoo! Entertainment, his love for the candy ran so deep that his family placed Tootsie Rolls in his casket. Just as ancient Egyptians filled tombs with treasured items, Sinatra’s loved ones honored him with the little comforts that shaped his everyday life.

Sinatra’s passion for Tootsie Rolls showed up everywhere he went. His concert contracts required promoters to stock his dressing room with a bag of miniature Tootsie Rolls before each show. For him, the candy wasn’t just a snack—it was part of his pre-show ritual.

He also kept his favorite candy close offstage. In 1942, Frank Sinatra appeared in a Tootsie Roll commercial, sharing his love with audiences. Seven years later, he recorded the song “Could ’Ja?,” which mentioned the candy by name. His daughter Nancy later ensured Tootsie Rolls joined him in his final rest, along with gum, cherry Lifesavers, and a bottle of Jack Daniel’s.

Decades later, this detail still fascinates admirers. Whether on stage, on tour, or in his final resting place, Sinatra kept Tootsie Rolls close by. His choice of candy may seem ordinary, but it became part of an extraordinary story.
