Goldie Hawn Reveals Acting Days Are Behind Her – What Is She Going To Do Now?

Goldie Hawn is trading the big screen for something entirely new. At 79, the beloved actress is stepping away from acting to explore her passion for home design. According to Yahoo Entertainment, she has her sights set on the home improvement industry, aiming to compete with Chip and Joanna Gaines in their own territory.

This shift marks a personal and professional reinvention. While her longtime partner Kurt Russell, 74, continues to work on major film projects, Hawn is channeling her energy into creative projects that feel closer to home. For fans who have followed her since her breakout on Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In in 1968, this new direction reflects the same drive and charm that defined her Hollywood career.

Hawn’s interest in home improvement has been building for years. She showed her talent for transforming spaces when she appeared on Celebrity IOU with Drew and Jonathan Scott. During the episode, she helped renovate the kitchen and living room of her close friend Celia, who supported her through a difficult divorce from Bill Hudson. “Tonight’s episode is all about gratitude,” Hawn wrote on Instagram in March. “After 40 years of love and support, it’s my turn to help create a beautiful space for someone who means the world to me.”

Those who know her say this passion is genuine. Her holiday gatherings are legendary, and she has a reputation for making any space warm and inviting. “She’s ready to find other properties to revamp,” an insider said. “She’s really good at this, and it’s fun. Goldie’s always liked a challenge.”

A Future Beyond the Silver Screen

Hawn approaches this new venture with the same commitment that fueled her best performances. In the 1980s and ’90s, she became known for throwing herself fully into each project. Now, she is applying that same energy to design. “She happily acknowledges those days are mostly behind her,” an insider noted, “but she’s just as passionate about what comes next.”

Whether she can rival Chip and Joanna Gaines remains to be seen, but her determination is clear. With creativity and warmth, Goldie Hawn is poised to bring her star power into a different kind of spotlight. This chapter may be new, but it proves what her fans have always known: Goldie Hawn doesn’t just follow trends—she creates them.
