John Stamos and Lori Loughlin just gave Full House fans a moment straight out of the ’90s. And it’s a Jesse-and-Becky reunion. The duo came together on June 5 for a live taping of the How Rude, Tanneritos! podcast, hosted by Andrea Barber (Kimmy) and Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie), and shared memories from their 1991 on-screen season 4 wedding episode.
The event took place at the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles. With familiar faces from the original cast, the night brought that Full House feeling back to life. And this time, the stories came straight from Jesse and Becky themselves.
Lori Loughlin’s real wedding dress and John Stamos’ favorite song
Now 60, Lori Loughlin opened up about her wedding look on the show, and it turns out that the big, elegant headdress she wore belonged to her aunt in real life. And the wedding dress was her actual gown from her 1997 wedding to Mossimo Giannulli. “By the time filming was over, it was thrashed,” she laughed. “I was running through the streets of Culver City in a van!”
John Stamos, who played Jesse Katsopolis, shared his favorite moment from the episode: a parachuting stunt featuring his real-life friend, Kin Shriner, who played the tomato-loving Sheriff Harold. He talked about performing “Forever,” a song by The Beach Boys’ Dennis Wilson. “It never got the attention it deserved,” he said. Now, he performs it during live shows in honor of the late Bob Saget, reminding fans to say “I love you” while there’s still time.
The chemistry between these stars and what made the event more special
The event didn’t just stop at the big moments; the little ones were zoomed in on, too, like how Loughlin’s baby photo in the episode wasn’t actually her. “The toddler picture was me, but the infant one was someone else’s kid,” she revealed. What made it even more special was that both of their moms were extras during the wedding scene. “Your mom was into it; she gave it her all,” Loughlin told Stamos. “Mine? Not so much. She was like, ‘This is terrible.’”
Fans also got a glimpse into the bond between the stars. Stamos shared in his 2023 memoir If You Would Have Told Me, that he and Loughlin once stood at the edge of turning their on-screen chemistry into something real. “It was the kind of friendship that real love is built on,” he wrote. Though they both went on to marry different people, but their friendship has stayed solid through the years.
