It’s wild how time flies. One minute, you’re just kids on set, goofing around and making memories. Then, in a blink, one of you is a mom. That’s exactly how Jodie Sweetin feels seeing her Full House co-star Ashley Olsen step into motherhood. She says it feels surreal.
In an exclusive chat before the live taping of her podcast, How Rude, Tanneritos! with Andrea Barber (aka Kimmy Gibbler), Jodie shared how strange but beautiful it feels watching someone you practically grew up with now raising a child. Ashley, who welcomed a son, Otto, with husband Louis Eisner in 2023, still feels like “little Michelle” in Jodie’s mind. “It’s what the adults must’ve felt watching us bring our kids around,” she said, laughing.
“Even my kids think it’s weird.” – Jodie Sweetin on Ashley Olsen being a mom now

One would think having a mom who starred in one of the most loved family shows would earn some bragging rights, but Jodie’s kids aren’t so fazed. Zoie, 17, and Beatrix, 14, have never really cared much about Full House. “Even when they were little, they were like, ‘It’s weird,’” Jodie admitted. The show may have been a big deal on Nick at Nite, but to her girls, it was just another thing their mom did way back when.
But even if they’re not TV-obsessed, they are creative. Zoie leans into sports, and Beatrix is the natural showstopper. “If you let her, she’ll figure out how to put on a show anywhere,” Jodie said.
Jodie Sweetin is taking on something different
Jodie is still being adored as Stephanie Tanner, and even now, she is stepping into something new and intense. She’s starring in Dateless to Dangerous, a Lifetime movie that tackles a heavy subject on how young men are being radicalized online. “Not one joke in it,” Jodie said. “It’s for real, for real.”
She’s making good use of this chance to show a different side of her. “It was a fun opportunity,” she said, “and I think it’ll be interesting for people to see me in something so dramatic.” The film premieres June 21, and Jodie’s excited for fans to see her in a new light. It is still her, but this time, bolder and ready for something more.
