Time passes in a blink. Audiences saw Jodie Sweetin grow up as the fussy second Tanner daughter in Full House and now she is a mother of her own, and her teen daughter Zoie Laurelmae Herpin looks like her twin in a new photo showing an important milestone in her life.
42-year-old Sweetin has been married four times and is the proud mother of two children; she shares Zoie with her first husband Cody Herpin. She had a second daughter Beatrix with her second sweetheart Morty Coyle roughly a year before they tied the knot. Today, she is married to Mescal Wasilewski and finds herself going through some big steps in the world of motherhood. Most recently: helping her daughter learn to drive.

Over the weekend, Sweetin took to Instagram to share a photo of herself and Zoie, who turns 16 on April 12, according to PEOPLE. This sweet sixteen also means she’s pulled up to a huge milestone and acquired her special permit to drive at age 16, provided she’s addressing the training requirements to qualify.

“This is me not at all worried while riding with Zo practicing her ‘neighborhood driving’ with her new Drivers Permit,” Sweetin captioned the post. She added assuringly, “Actually… she was VERY good. As long as she never backs the car through the kitchen…we’re good.” This is a cheeky nod to the Full House episode “Honey, I Broke the House,” in which Stephanie did just that to the kitchen.
The requirements vary to a degree by state, and California, where Sweetin lives, demands that young drivers be at least 15 and a half years old, but under 18, and have a Certificate of Completion/Enrollment of Driver Education, according to the state’s DMV.
It’s a fuller house for Sweetin
With that visual of Stephanie putting a car in the kitchen, it was easy for fans to extrapolate and imagine history repeating itself – mostly because Zoie is Sweetin’s mini-me. One user excitedly replied “Twins!!!” seeing the mother-daughter duo. Another agreed, “This looks like you and you sitting in a car.” A different user echoed these sentiments, saying, “She’s your twin.”
Zoie is the half-sister of Beatrix, who was born in 2010. Although the resemblance is there, Sweetin has said while discussing parenting, “People want to raise mini versions of themselves. I just try and remember, ‘This is your own journey and I’m just here to help.'”
That help will probably center around the next stage of Zoie’s driving journey. “To get your driver’s license after you have your instruction permit,” notes California’s DMV, the hopeful driver must “Practice driving with a California-licensed driver who is at least 18 years old (25 for minors),” while that person is able to take over in case of an emergency. Then, they must pass a behind-the-wheel driver test. Good luck, Zoie, and don’t give any houses a new garage!
