
The Disney+ series The Santa Clauses, which premiered in 2022 as a sequel to the 2006 movie The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause brought back Home Improvement star Tim Allen to reprise his role as Scott Calvin, the man who became Santa Claus. While the series was marketed as a heartwarming holiday series, behind the scenes, there were claims of a less-than-jolly atmosphere.
Multiple sources, comprising cast and crew members, have in the past revealed that Allen exhibited certain behaviors that made the set of the series a very toxic environment. In a 2023 interview, actor and screenwriter Casey Wilson, who worked with the Last Man Standing actor on the Disney+ TV show, shared details of his experience during his time on the project.

During a 2023 episode of her podcast, B**h Sesh: A Real Housewives Breakdown*, Wilson revealed that Tim Allen was very unprofessional during the filming of The Santa Clauses pilot. She described the experience as the worst she has ever had with a co-star, detailing how Allen’s rude and pompous attitude made the set uncomfortable for everyone involved.
The Happy Endings actress explained that during one of the scenes, her character was scripted to throw objects at Allen. The actor took issue with her performance, abruptly interrupting filming to complain to a producer that she was stepping on his lines, leaving her surprised by the actor’s diva-like behavior.

Wilson stated that she was not the only one affected by Allen’s uncouth behavior, as all cast and crew members also got their fair share. She disclosed that the actor’s recurring outbursts, refusal to make eye contact with any of his costars, as well as his audacious attitude left everyone on the set visibly uneasy, making their jobs very difficult.
She further noted the strained environment was so palpable that crew members all appeared frantic throughout filming, as if walking on eggshells to avoid triggering further reactions from the actor.
