Fran Drescher is not just getting ready for her next big movie role as Timothée Chalamet’s mother in Marty Supreme. She has also spent almost twenty years focused on something much more personal, helping people understand their health better.

At 67, she’s still very active, and her nonprofit, Cancer Schmancer, continues to grow. It all started with her own health experience, and ever since then, she has been using her voice to push for early cancer detection and better education, especially for women. This has become her main mission, and her latest project proves just that.

Fran Drescher’s uterine cancer was misdiagnosed as perimenopause

When Drescher first started noticing strange symptoms, she expected doctors to help her figure it out. She had spotting between her periods, pain after sex, and her breasts started to feel sore and unusually firm. These were clear changes, but every doctor she saw, eight in total over two years, told her it was just perimenopause.

The real problem was uterine cancer. It took years for her to get the correct diagnosis, and by then, she was frustrated and confused. That whole process made her realize how often women’s health concerns are brushed off or misunderstood. She says many people only find out they have cancer when it’s too late, not because the signs weren’t there, but because no one paid attention soon enough.

Fran Drescher partners with Laura Geller for breast cancer awareness

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Drescher is teaming up with makeup brand founder Laura Geller to launch a limited edition beauty kit. The “Fran Drescher Cancer Schmancer Kit” includes three of Laura Geller’s most popular products: a blush, a bronzer, and an eyeshadow duo, plus a double-sided makeup brush.

Everything comes in a pink case to match the breast cancer awareness theme. Drescher says it’s easy to use, compact, and gives a complete makeup look you can carry anywhere. Half of the money made from this kit in October goes straight to Cancer Schmancer.
