During the recent performance in Milwaukee, the singer revealed his plans to gradually retire from the touring aspect of his career to the audience, marking the Last Call: One More for the Road Tour as his last.
Expressing deep emotions, Jackson clarified that this would not be his last performance as an artist, while unveiling his plans for a grand finale show expected to be held in Nashville the following summer. Just a year before embarking on his Last Call: One More for the Road Tour, Jackson, while making an appearance on the Today show, publicly disclosed his struggles with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a degenerative nerve condition that he had been diagnosed with since 2011. He explained that the ailment had taken a toll on him, affecting his mobility and balance so much that it always took a lot of effort to get himself steady in front of a microphone.
In a 2023 interview during an appearance on his daughter Mattie Jackson’s In Joy Life podcast, the musician revealed that even though the debilitating impact of his health challenge might limit his touring abilities, he still remains committed to his musical career, stating his plans to release new music.
