In April 2022, Susan Boyle suffered a serious stroke that affected her speech and left her unsure if she would ever sing again. It was a major setback. The recovery process lasted nearly three years; during this time, she was off social media and was not heard from for a while.
In a December 2024 interview, she described the journey as difficult but said she was finally back on her feet. Her health crisis kept her away from the public, but fans recently saw her again, this time in an Instagram post that quickly went viral.

Susan Boyle appeared in a new photo on Instagram during a casual BBQ with friends. Her hair was shorter and in a new shade that highlighted her face. It was her first major appearance in years, and fans noticed the change immediately.
One of the photos showed her grilling at a barbecue stand, relaxed and enjoying the moment. Her cheerful expression and confident body language made it clear that she was in better shape. The post itself was short, just a quick update about spending time with friends, but it got fans commenting on how different she looked.
What is Susan Boyle doing now?
Susan Boyle’s return isn’t limited to Instagram. After recovering from her stroke, she’s working on several new projects. She first became a global name in 2009 when she performed on Britain’s Got Talent. Her debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, became the best-selling album in the world that year. Since then, she has sold over 25 million records and broken UK chart records.
Now at 64, she’s preparing for more. She recently confirmed working on a new documentary, a drama based on her life, and a small role in a Rupert Everett film.
