How Carvel Ice Cream's, Fudgie The Whale, Became A Pop-Culture Icon

Fudgie the Whale, along with Cookie Puss, and Hug-Me the Bear are nostalgic characters in the world of Carvel Ice Cream Cakes. Although an East Coast company, this “killer” Whale of a cake has gained National recognition thanks to it’s being the subject of parody for comedians Patton Oswalt, Kevin Smith and Billy Crystal, making comedic cameos on more than it’s fair share TV shows and talk shows and having songs and dances named after it.

Fudgie is turning the big 4-0 this year so it’s only appropriate we say, Have a “Whale of a Birthday”, Fudgie!
