Joan Rivers’ daughter, Melissa Rivers, got fans talking about her appearance at her wedding. Even though the ceremony was a display of love between the couple, her appearance quickly became an issue, and social media users could not help but react to it.
Melissa, 57, married attorney Steve Mitchel on March 15. They held their wedding at the Four Seasons in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, with about 150 guests in attendance. While the event was filled with joy, people online quickly turned Melissa’s appearance into a subject of discussion.

Joan Rivers’ daughter, Melissa Rivers, was dressed in a silver gown with a draped neckline and spaghetti straps, with her brown hair styled in soft waves, which made her look radiant for the event. Likewise, the bridegroom, Steve, 63, wore a black suit and white shirt with a deep blue tie.
While the wedding was a joyous occasion for the newlyweds, many social media users focused on Melissa’s appearance, with some speculating that she had undergone plastic surgeries. Some users wrote ugly words in the comments section, claiming that Melissa was already following her mother’s steps and may end up like her. “She’s had so much done to her face… that’s what killed her mom.” The discussion continued on Instagram, where some also assumed that filters might have been responsible for her new look. However, many still sent their well-wishes.
Second marriage
Melissa Rivers’ wedding almost did not happen after she suffered a devastating loss. Earlier this year, she lost her home in the Palisade fires, which destroyed everything she owned, including the outfit she had planned to wear on her special day. The emotional toll nearly caused her to cancel the wedding, but her friends encouraged her to move forward.
Also, getting married again brought much joy to Melissa as she had not imagined herself walking down the aisle after her 2003 divorce. In a 2023 interview with E! News, she shared that Steve’s humor won her over. The TV personality also believed her late mother would have approved of Steve. Before proposing, Steve sought permission from Melissa’s son, Cooper Endicott, who was 22 then.
