Sting

Sting will not be attending the Bass Magazine Awards this Thursday due to health issues. He shared the update via Instagram, apologizing ahead for his unavoidable absence based on medical advice. He was supposed to receive a lifetime achievement award at the event, where he might have someone else keep it in his stead.

Sting also announced the postponement of his concert dates in Phoenix, Arizona, and Wheatland, California. His scheduled performance at the Cherrytree Music Company’s 20th anniversary also got moved to the end of May.

Sting, who was born Gordon Matthew Thomas Summer, did not explicitly state what his health challenge is; however, the last time a similar issue occurred, he was diagnosed with a throat infection. Sting’s spokesperson urged fans to keep their tickets for the gigs now happening between May 28 and June 1.

Although dealing with sickness, Sting is in better shape for his age thanks to a macrobiotic diet consisting of vegetables, grains, and less dairy, meat, and sugar. He even has a chef make his meals daily, even while touring. He is also consistent with yoga, which he credits with prolonging his stage performance career due to its positive effects on his physical health.

Sting fans express thoughts about tour postponement

Though slightly disappointed, fans were kind enough to acknowledge that Sting’s sudden postponement of upcoming concerts is beyond his control as he is required to recover fully for optimal performance. “Wishing you a speedy recovery and lots of healing and time with near and dear ones,” someone wrote.

Another follower assured the others that Sting would be back soon and likely had the flu or some cold. “Anyway, I wish him recovery and send him hugs and support!” they added. “I’m not gonna lie my heart started beating so fast. I thought it was saying he passed. Prayers of healing dear. You Got this!” a third user said, relieved that Sting is not dead.
