Danica McKellar and Candace Cameron Bure met as teenagers in the ‘80s, and unknown to many, they were involved in a typical teen love triangle with an actor from Growing Pains, which was a popular sitcom at the time.
The person in question was Jeremy Miller, who played the youngest of the Seaver household, Ben. Danica and Candace also made appearances in Growing Pains; however, their roles were not recurring. Thankfully, the ladies’ friendship remained unaffected by Jeremy’s tricks, as they are still close pals to this day.
What happened between Danica McKellar and Candace Cameron Bure?
Danica recalled the love triangle between her and her longtime friend during That’s4Entertainment’s ’90s Con in Tampa, Florida, last year. The incident happened in 1989 when a teen magazine organized a party with her, Candace, and Jeremy in attendance. Right there, she agreed to be Jeremy’s girlfriend.
To Danica’s surprise, many years later, Candace and Jeremy were a couple at the same time. Thankfully, their romance was nothing serious, as they were only around 13 back then. Looking back, Danica was amused by Jeremy’s sneakiness.
Jeremy Miller speaks up
Jeremy addressed the accusation against his teenage self, refuting claims that he double-dated Danica and Candace. He clarified that he had broken things off with Candace before asking Danica out for the second time, which was during the Teen Beat magazine event. Jeremy was two years younger than Danica, who was sadly not interested in him, but he remained persistent and won her over.
Jeremy said his relationship with Danica was his first real one, as they did activities together, like getting ice cream and hanging out with each other’s friends and family. Like most relationships between young teens, they outgrew each other and have moved on ever since. Danica is in her second marriage to Scott Sveslosky while she still maintains a meaningful relationship with Candace, who she credits for leading her to faith.
