Recently, some cast members of the classic movie, A League of Their Own reunited at the Donald Stephens Convention Center for Chicago Sports Spectacular. The ladies met up with eager fans, answered questions, and signed memorabilia from the ‘90s film.
Those present included Geena Davis, Lori Petty, Rosie O’Donnell, Bitty Schram, Megan Cavanagh, Tracy Reiner, and Ellie Weingardt. Sadly, Madonna, who played Mae Mordabito, was not present at the event, and neither was Tom Hanks.

Rosie posted a group photo on her Instagram page featuring the Rockford Peaches in attendance. The post got thousands of likes and hundreds of comments, gushing about the 1992 classic and how much the ladies have changed.
Some said it was their favorite movie growing up, and many others echoed the same sentiment. “Omg, awesome!!! …Love you all!!!!!!” they exclaimed. “Omg, this is awesome! One of my most favorite movies!!!!!! @madonna where are you!!!!!! Lol” another added, calling Madonna out for being absent. A third user said the Rockford Peaches have always felt like friends and inspired her since she was a young girl.
‘A League of Their Own’ 32 years after
A League Of Their Own was about the professional women’s baseball team in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL). They played from 1943 to 1954, winning four league championships within that decade. They are the pioneers of women’s sports, having pushed for participation after the Second World War.
The Rockford Peaches got renewed attention with A League of Their Own in the ‘90s, showcasing and celebrating the triumphs of the all-woman baseball team. Today, there are no known surviving members of the Rockford Peaches, as the last one, Mary Pratt, passed away at 101 in 2020.
