Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s daughter, Apple Martin, was among the debutantes at this year’s Le Bal des Debutantes in Paris, alongside a number of other girls between the ages of 16 and 22. The 20-year-old showed up in a Valentino Haute couture dress that took 750 hours to make.
In a shocking turn of events, Apple came under fire on social media after a video of her interrupting a fellow debutante’s photo session made it to TikTok. Fans were furious and called Apple a mean girl for stealing her counterpart’s spotlight.
Fans call out Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter after Le Bal
The TikTok clip showed the unidentified debutante in a black dress posing for cameras when Apple suddenly showed up and diverted attention to herself by striking different poses. Another girl in a lacey blue tube dress posed right after as the first one left, looking defeated.
The comments were heated as fans tagged Apple’s actions as rude and obnoxious. “She just came and stole that girl’s thunder…ok,” someone pointed out. “I think the Apple’s rotten to the core,” another said metaphorically. Some had a different opinion, saying Apple was simply being goofy and meant no spite.
Apple Martin stunned at the Le Bal
The social media frenzy aside, Apple’s outfit at the Le Bal was a head turner. She accessorized with a pair of earrings and let her blonde hair down in a center part. Her parents’ fans loved her outfit and did not fail to express it. “How did she grow up so fast? Love you all,” someone gushed.
Apple’s dad was also present at the ceremony, posing with ex-wife Gwyneth, their son Moses, and a few famous faces. Though Apple prefers to keep her personal business out of the spotlight, she is currently studying at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She has also expressed interest in music, fashion and modeling.
