Wynonna Judd recently gained attention for her excellent performance at the Austin City Limits. However, she’s in the news now for an entirely different and unfortunate reason. Wynonna Judd’s daughter, Grace Kelley, has been arrested for the third time this year after stealing a Charlottesville church’s van.
Kelley’s repeated run-in with the law has not only cast Wynonna in a bad light, it has also made netizens question her parenting.
Wynonna Judd’s daughter was arrested for allegedly stealing a church van
Grace Kelley, 28, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses. According to authorities, She was charged with three counts of felony grand larceny, driving without a license, destruction of property with intent, failure to use headlights, and intent to commit a crime with a vehicle.
The church lead pastor, Kent Hart, claimed he chased her after he saw the van leaving his driveway, but she drove around him and escaped. However, she was caught when the police officers found the stolen vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle was stopped on Massie Branch Lane at approximately 6:43 pm, and Kelley was taken into custody. The van was damaged badly during the theft and has been determined to be a total loss.
Wynonna Judd’s daughter has had two prior arrests this year
This latest arrest is not Kelley’s only brush with the law. Her legal troubles began in 2017 after she was convicted of possession of methamphetamine. In April, Kelley was arrested in Alabama on charges of indecent exposure and obstructing governmental operations, with an additional charge of soliciting prostitution added later. She pleaded guilty to public lewdness and obstructing government operations. Just a few months later, in August, Kelley was arrested again in Georgia on charges of fleeing a police officer, driving with a suspended license, and not using proper motorcycle equipment, securing release on a $2,750 bond.
Despite the looming legal troubles, Wynonna Judd has yet to comment publicly on her daughter’s latest arrest. Meanwhile, the church has stated that they forgive Kelley for her actions, but she remains in custody.
