Reba McEntire Posts Throwback Photo With Melissa Peterman As Tribute To New ‘Wicked’ Film

Wicked is coming to theaters soon, and many, including Reba McEntire, are looking forward to it. The 69-year-old took a throwback photo to Instagram, which was a nod to the lead characters Elphaba and Glinda. The shot featured Reba McEntire and her costar Melissa Peterman in colors that matched the Wicked duo’s costumes.

Reba McEntire wore a green sleeveless gown, while Melissa Peterman donned a similar one in pink, and they appeared to be arguing in the candid shot. “I guess pink and green really do go with dynamic duos!” the country star’s caption read.

Fans understood Reba McEntire’s reference, even though she was not direct about it, and expressed excitement in the comments. The shot was from the set of Reba, where Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman played sisters. “This was so good! Best duo ever!” someone replied with clapping emojis.

Some gushed at the fact that they coincidentally reran the episode that morning, only to find it on their Instagram timeline. Reba aired from 2001 to 2005; however, it was canceled in its fifth season due to The WB’s merger with UPN to become The CW.

‘Wicked’ will premiere in theaters this Friday

Cynthia Erivo will appear as Elphaba, and Ariana Grande as Glinda in the Jon M. Chu-directed film, which is inspired by L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Reba McEntire’s green dress is a nod to Ephaba’s green skin, which makes her misunderstood and eventually ostracized, while her friend Glinda wears an elegant pink dress.

Their friendship gets tested after their encounter with the wonderful Wizard of Oz. A few of Reba McEntire’s followers shared GIFs featuring Ariana and Cynthia in character, showing their anticipation for the upcoming film. “Loved this episode! but you are totally not wicked, reba- green is totally your color, though!” someone quipped.
