Catherine Bach starred as Daisy Duke in 1979’s The Duke of Hazards, which lasted for nine seasons until 1985. She started a fashion trend with her character after asking to bring her costume when the producers required her to wear a tight turtleneck top, go-go boots, and a poodle skirt.
She appeared in a homemade shirt, denim shorts, and high heels. However, she considered the shorts inappropriate for the restaurant scene. Waitresses eventually inspired her at a nearby diner who wore miniskirts that matched the tablecloths. The style became the popular Daisy Dukes shorts, which the series star still owns 45 years later.
