David Krumholtz of The Santa Clause attended the premiere of Red One, where he admitted that the 1994 classic’s success was not a surprise. David was only 16 when he played head elf Bernard in the film, which turned out to be one of his breakthrough roles.
The Santa Clause did so well that two movie sequels followed, and then a series featuring Tim Allen, which is set to premiere its third season soon. David reprised in role in all the installments except The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause due to a scheduling conflict.
What is David Krumholtz doing now?
David is now a father of two at 46 and is still landing roles in hit movies. He appeared as physicist Isidor Isaac Rabi in Christopher Nolan’s award-winning biopic Oppenheimer, although he did not consider his role life-changing. He will be starring as Al Teller in 2025’s Deliver Me From Nowhere.
David has had his share of challenges during the course of his career, as he suffered from thyroid cancer in 2011. Thankfully, he became cancer-free after undergoing radioactive iodine treatment shortly after. He recalled having panic attacks and mental breakdowns before his diagnosis, adding that his treatment led to weight gain due to hormonal imbalance.

When he is not playing a part behind cameras, David is being a dad to his daughter Pemma Mae and son Jonas. He shares both kids with his partner of nearly 15 years, Vanessa Britting, who is also an actress. He attended the recent star-studded premiere of Red Ones with Pemma, and fans were delighted to see the adorable pre-teen.

David’s followers noted that they shared the same smile while applauding him for bringing Pemma along. “Such a beautiful moment between father and daughter,” someone gushed. “That’s really sweet David !! Hope she had a blast,” another exclaimed.
