Matt LeBlanc was recently spotted out and about in Los Angeles last Friday as he made for a car showroom just on the fringe of the city in Van Nuys. The sitcom star, who played Joey Tribbiani in Friends, now looks unrecognizable and different from the trim, adorable man he was once known as.
Matt opted for a casual look featuring a pair of jeans underneath a black V-neck shirt and a baseball hat. He also had on dark sneakers as he strutted about the area on this rare sighting. Matt looked chubbier with a lot more gray hair during this rare time out, which was his first known time in public after his co-star Matthew Perry’s death.
Remembering Matthew Perry
Following Perry’s death last October, Matt, who played best friend to Chandler Bing on Friends, took to Instagram with a touching tribute that read, “Matthew. It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life,” adding that their work relationship and friendship were an honor of a lifetime.

In usual bestie fashion, Matt joked about never getting the $20 he lent Perry back as he concluded his statement. “I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love,” he added alongside a 2004 photo from the set and others featuring their characters Bing and Joey hugging.
Life after ‘Friends’
After Friends ended in 2004, alongside the cancellation of his spinoff Joey after two seasons, Matt took a six-year-long hiatus from the acting scenes and returned as a fictional version of himself on Episodes. His appearance earned him a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a television series, musical, or comedy, and multiple Primetime Emmy nods.
He also starred in a few more productions and TV shows, including Man With A Plan, which wrapped up in 2020. Years later, Matt’s appearance raised eyebrows among fans on social media, who were concerned about his new weight gain, health, and hair loss.
