Aside from being an accomplished film star, Tom Selleck is a family man and father of two: his son Kevin Shepard from his marriage to Jacqueline Ray and his daughter Hannah with his current wife Jillie Joan Mack. While Tom adopted Kevin, Hannah was born in December 1988 and grew up on his California ranch.
Hannah inspired Tom to take a hiatus from acting in the middle of filming Christopher Columbus: The Discovery with Marlon Brando because he wanted to spend more time with family. Tom has no regrets about taking time out to raise her on the ranch, as her current job has everything to do with horses.
Meet Hannah Margaret Selleck
Hannah grew up as the proper country girl with a love for animals, especially horses, which she started riding as early as 4 years old. While evolving into a recognized equestrian jumping athlete, Hannah was also getting an education. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
After college, Hannah tried to pursue a career in PR and Communications, thinking it would help support her as she strove for expert horse-riding status. After a six-month internship in Beverly Hills, the 35-year-old resolved to make a career out of her love for horses instead and quit.
Hannah Margaret Selleck is now an accomplished equestrian
Having attended Foxfield Riding School in Westlake Village, California, and achieving feats such as the United States Equestrian Federation Hunt Medal Finals Reserve Championship, Hannah simply focused on horse riding full-time to establish her career. She also does some modeling on the side and spends time in Europe when off work.
So far, Hannah has maintained star status as an equestrian, even after suffering a riding accident in 2018. She broke her tibia and fibula but was able to return to work after energy-healing sessions. She still runs Descanso Farms, where high-caliber show horses are raised and trained.
