Tom Selleck was recently spotted out in San Francisco looking chubbier than usual as he strolled through the street in a causal black fit. He appeared to struggle while walking, and his shorts showed the scars on his knees from surgery.
A source revealed that the actor is currently in bad shape due to sudden weight gain and is undergoing physical therapy to walk properly again. He now spends time at the gym and exercises with the help of specialists, hoping that he can move unassisted again soon.
Tom Selleck gained weight after ‘Blue Bloods’ cancellation
Another insider claimed Tom began eating comfort food to cope with the cancellation of Blue Bloods— where he played Frank Reagan from the premiere in 2010 until season 14. The show was reportedly cut short due to expenses, and CBS is allegedly looking to invest in a spinoff rather than yet another season.
The source added that the actor urgently needs to get over the network’s abrupt move and lose weight quickly, as gaining more pounds will only worsen his condition. Thankfully, Tom is taking steps to manage his current state; however, if nothing improves in the coming month, he may resort to a walker.
Tom Selleck is being forced to retire
Although Tom has been forced to take a break from his acting career with the cancelation of Blue Bloods, the actor did not intend to retire just yet. He noted that not getting work at this time meant he would not be able to afford his 63-acre ranch in Ventura, California.
He felt frustrated and taken for granted upon learning about CBS’ move; however, he hopes the network will come to its senses and bring back the series. Like Tom, many fans were not pleased with the cancellation and called out those behind it on social media. “I had no idea that CBS was the one who canceled Blue Bloods. That REALLY has me UPSET,” an offended fan posted.
