Art Garfunkel of Simon and Garfunkel recently disclosed that he finally reunited with the band’s other half, Paul Simon, since their last performance in 2010. He noted that they had such a warm and wonderful lunch together that they started crying at some point.
The group broke up years ago due to creative tensions and their contrasting music preferences. Garfunkel also shifted his focus to acting, giving less time and attention to their music career, while Simon felt he was doing most of the work as a songwriter.

Garfunkel told The Sun he felt guilty during their little reunion because he had hurt Simon. Last month, the 82-year-old admitted to missing his former music partner and wished for another performance together—which may be happening soon.
Their first-ever split was back in the ‘70s; however, they returned to each other ten years later for a reunion gig in Central Park, New York. The MGM + docuseries In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon gave further insight into their many disagreements, which led to their estrangement after Bridge over Troubled Water, which was the best-selling album of the early ‘70s.
Garfunkel and Garfunkel
With Simon off his radar for years and a successful solo career, Garfunkel and his son Art Garfunkel Jr. started a band together called Garfunkel & Garfunkel. They are set to release their debut album as a group, Father and Son, which includes Garfunkel’s favorite tracks from the past.
Garfunkel Jr. is also a successful singer-songwriter in Germany, with three albums so far including his charting Schlager hit, Wie Du – Hommage an Meinen Vater. Aside from music, he is actively involved in social causes such as animal rights and environmental preservation. Garfunkel considers his 33-year-old as the better singer, noting that he enjoys working with him.
