As the media tour for Lisa Marie Presley’s posthumous memoir From Here to the Great Unknown comes to an end, Riley Keough shared a photo of the late singer and her dad, Danny Keough, from their years together.
Lisa Marie and Danny were married from 1988 to 1994, during which they had Riley and her late brother Benjamin Keough. The first slide featured the family of four, showing Riley and Benjamin as babies.
Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough shared a ‘different’ love
Riley included an excerpt from the newly released memoir in her caption, which talked about Lisa Marie and Danny’s relationship. “Were Danny and I going to stay married forever? No fucking way. Neither of us had that in our minds,” Lisa Marie had said.
Lisa Marie said they were a different kind of soulmates, and they always ended up living in the same house somehow. She first met Danny at the Scientology Celebrity Center in Los Angeles, and they got married three years later at that same venue.
Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough remained friends after divorce
Sadly, Lisa Marie and Danny lasted for only six years, and they were unable to reconcile their age difference and differing lifestyles. They remained friends after the divorce, which made it easier to co-parent Riley and her brother. According to the memoir, it was Danny who convinced Lisa Marie to let go and bury Benjamin two months after his demise.
Fans gushed about the famous couple in Riley’s comments and thanked her for making Lisa Marie’s memoir a reality. “Great book! Danny was the best thing that happened to your mom! They truly loved and cared for each other,” one said, while another agreed that they were meant to be. “Danny was the best of them and a Hottie. A true friend is better than anyone. Wish he could have revived her that day,” they quipped.
