Liza Minnelli graced the inaugural Gala of the Stars event, which took place recently at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. She showed up in an all-black ensemble featuring a shiny top and velvet pants, with ankle boots to match.
The 78-year-old star showed off her short pixie cut hairdo as she posed backstage in a wheelchair as the ceremony went on. As fitting, Liza received a Lifetime Achievement Award amongst other dance legends who were present to support Dancers Against Cancer.
How is Liza Minnelli’s health?

Liza has been through a series of health challenges in her lifetime, ranging from viral encephalitis to hip and knee replacements and a few falls. She missed a few important events this year, including the burial of her producer friend Allan Lazare in March and her New York film premiere in June.
Although she seemed to be in high spirits at the recent gala, Liza has been unable to travel as much and spends more time at home with dogs watching movies. She remains active on her social media, giving her followers updates and reminiscing about her prime with throwback photos.
Is Liza Minnelli retiring?
Liza turns 79 next March; however, she has no plans to quit working. Following her recent documentary with Bruce David Klein, she is set to release a memoir about her life in 2026. Liza noted in August that she is tired of letting people tell her story with false narratives.
The 78-year-old will be addressing the half-truths and lies in collaboration with her friend Michael Feinstein, Pulitzer Prize winner Heidi Evans, and Josh Getlin from The Los Angeles Times. In addition to the many projects in her hands, Liza still promises new music and collaborations in the coming years.
