Elton John: Never Too Late premiered at the New York Film Festival, and Elton John was present to give a saddening update about his health. The 77-year-old took to the stage in a classic beige suit over a wine-colored shirt and tie, accessorizing as always with his glasses, jewelry, and hair.
Elton proceeded to disclose how many organs he had removed so far, noting that there was not much left of him. Also in attendance were the documentary’s directors, R.J. Cutler and David Furnish, who wore an all-black suit.
What organs has Elton John removed?
Elton got candid about his health problems, revealing he has no tonsils, prostate, adenoids, or even an appendix. He said all that is left is his left hip, as his right hip and both kneecaps have been removed. Regardless, Elton was majorly positive and kept his passion for performing.
The iconic singer-songwriter also got a pacemaker in the ‘90s due to irregular heartbeat patterns. In every decade of his career, Elton had a major health issue, and his latest is an eye infection, which he announced last month. He assured fans of his quick recovery despite being unable to see in one eye.
Is it ‘too late?’
Elton’s documentary promises to be a touching expose of his life and legacy. He announced at the premiere that he was done touring to focus on his family. Elton is a father of two — Zachary and Elijah — whom he credits for making him the happiest man in the world.
