Ryan Seacrest is having a hard time as the new host of Wheel of Fortune because most viewers have refused to move on from the former anchor, Pat Sajak. The 49-year-old is an experienced TV personality but has yet to achieve success in winning the hearts of the game show’s fans.
Insider reports say the criticism is getting to Ryan, and is now considering therapy as a result. Even before his debut episode on September 9, he was hardly given the benefit of the doubt as viewers called for Sajak’s comeback on social media.
Fans grow increasingly critical over Ryan Seacrest
Fans of Wheel of Fortune have accused Ryan of being unhelpful to contestants who simply needed his nudge to win prizes. They compared him to Sajak, saying the former host had empathy and would often help players towards winning rather than derail them.
They also claim Ryan delivers his lines wrong and is lacking chemistry with his co-host Vanna White, unlike Sajak. Some have gone as far as naming Sajak’s daughter, Maggie, as a better replacement since she has a good relationship with fans through her social media correspondent role.
The source revealed that Ryan sees all the comments online and is more sensitive than people realize. The show host is facing his worst nightmare as the audience rejects him, while his self-esteem plunges. He may commence therapy soon to deal with his emotions and build up his confidence again.

Ryan may have had higher expectations for how he would be received by Wheel of Fortune fans; hence, he was unprepared for such mass rejection. Reports say Sajak has been watching from the sidelines, rendering no help or advice to his successor as he moves on career-wise.
