Curt Smith and his first daughter Diva had a wholesome time singing “Mad World” together on YouTube. One could tell that talent runs in the Smith family as Diva strummed her guitar alongside her dad, Curt, who released the song in the same year.
Curt kept it simple with a bluish-green shirt, while Diva wore an orange shirt underneath a jean pinafore. “One of the songs that I played over and over again growing up was Mad World by @TearsForFearsOfficial. Hard to imagine a song that seems more relevant right now,” Tory Burch captioned the clio online.
Fans react to the father-daughter performance
Filled with joy at the sight of Curt and his adult daughter Diva, fans took to the comments to compliment them and gush over Diva’s beauty. “As a father to daughters, I love this. As a musician, I love this. As a Tears for Fears fan, I love this. As a person with ears connected to my brain with a beating heart, I love this,” someone wrote.

Another added that it was a blessing that Curt has a child, especially one who sings and laughs with him. “I was probably his daughter’s age when I first heard this song. Now I’m 55 years old. Always a TFF fan. Beautiful harmony!!” they gushed.
‘Tears for Fears’
Curt was a part of the Tears for Fears pop rock band, which he established with a friend, Roland Orzabal. He left the group in 1991 to focus on his solo career, which saw the release of his debut album Soul On Board. Although Curt reunited with the music group in 2000, he already established his singing career with a few albums.
The 63-year-old also tried acting in 1994’s The Dead Connection and played a professor in 2000’s The Private Public. He was featured in a few more movies and dabbled into TV as well. Per Curt’s band, fans encouraged him to keep the memories of Tears for Fears’ songs because they have been grossly underrated. “Perhaps too easily overlooked. Their content was not fluff like pop music is today. We need to revisit their stuff intently just like this,” they added.
