Many believe it is a parent’s God-given right to coddle, dote upon, and otherwise spoil their grandchildren, but that does create a stark contrast for their own kids who might have had a very different experience with their parents. Such is the case for Clint Eastwood‘s daughter, Francesca Eastwood, who gets to see him as a wonderful grandfather after living with him as a stern, rigid parent.
94-year-old Clint Eastwood has had several children across multiple relationships. The number of kids is estimated to be around eight, and many have gone on to secure fame in their own right. 31-year-old Francesca is Eastwood’s daughter with actress Frances Fisher, to whom he was married from 1990 to ’95. Francesca is a parent too, to five-year-old son Titan, who she shares with boyfriend Alexander Wraith.

“I mean, just the sweetest,” she gushed. It’s a sharp contrast to the side of Eastwood Francesca got to see growing up as his daughter. She went on, “You know, my dad was very strict and my mom — both my parents were very strict with me when I was a kid. And it’s so lovely and sometimes bittersweet to just see how just doting and just classic grandpa and grandma to their grandson who can do no wrong.”
“But it’s lovely,” she stressed. “And they have their own relationship that I’m obviously involved in. They’re fantastic, and they’re so present.” She categorized it as “a connection unlike anything else,” adding that it’s “the most important part of my life right now is nurturing those relationships.”

Though he just celebrated his 94th birthday this May, Clint still kept busy right to that point—but may be slowing down now. He’s gone stretches of time without making any high-profile appearances, and there is talk that his latest film, Juror No. 2, may really be his last.

When contemplating such a notion, Francesca has said in interviews, “It’s really hard for me as his daughter to even think about that question because, you know, a lot of people on set [of Juror No. 2] are like, ‘Oh, it’s his final film! We had to be here!'”
She went on, “Like, a lot of the newbies, not the usual crew and stuff. It’s just hard for me to think like that. I don’t like to think like that, but I will say it’s a solid flick. It’s a solid movie. There are great performances in it, and I’m a lucky son of a gun to be in it.”
