It has been 44 years since Lisa and Louise Burns played the Grady twins in Stanley Kurbrick’s horror film The Shining, and fast forward to now, you can hardly recognize them. The 55-year-olds recently shared a snap to their joint Instagram page, posing with police officers in the UK.
The pair coordinated their outfits, with one of them wearing a gray coat and a powdery pink scarf and the other opting for a black coat and lilac scarf. They both kept their graying hair short, looking expectedly different from the little girls fans know.
Fans appreciate ‘The Shining’ twins so many years later
Lisa and Louise’s fans considered their post a pleasant surprise, as they last showed their faces last December. “Thank you for sharing yourselves with us and thank you for being so PERFECT in the movie,” someone gushed. “You two are awesome,” another exclaimed.

Some made reference to the 1980 movie, teasing the twins to come play with the character Danny, played by Danny Lloyd. “I love that these fine officers took pics with you two such an iconic duo, one could even say shiny, I’ll show myself out,” a third comment read.
Life after ‘The Shining’
After their most famous roles as the Grady duo, Lisa and Louise backed away from the spotlight to pursue their preferred career paths. Lisa now works as a lawyer, while Louise is thriving as a scientist. They recalled feeling normal while playing the eerie characters, noting that they simply felt like they were wearing dainty dresses.
While they live largely private lives, the Burns twins were spotted paying tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2022 at her lying-in-state. They shared the report with their social media followers like they often do with other highlights from their lives.
