Ellen DeGeneres To Retire After Final Project: ‘I’m Done’

It appears Ellen DeGeneres has had her fill of show business and is ready to take the backseat soon. During her stop at Santa Rosa, California, for Ellen’s Last Stand… Up comedy tour, she announced her intention to retire after her Netflix special.

Ellen insisted that she was truly done after a fan asked if she would star in movies or Broadway productions much later. As if it would be any help, another member of the audience urged her to reprise her role as Dory in Pixar’s Finding Nemo sequel, but Ellen had her mind made up.

The 66-year-old admitted to being an immature boss while reflecting on the toxic workplace allegations against her in 2020. The accusations led to Ellen being publicly canceled and the inevitable end of her daytime talk show after 19 seasons. She recalled being the most hated person in America at the time, admitting that it was a difficult time in her career.

People assumed Ellen was done as she withdrew from the spotlight until a source revealed that she had other endeavors to attend to. During that period, she focused on animal welfare, collaborating with Discovery, volunteering, and donating cash to the cause alongside her wife, Portia De Rossi.

Ellen cancels the rest of her tour

Ellen canceled her tour gigs for Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago without stating why. She promised to address questions about her career in her upcoming Netflix special later this year. Ben Winston is producing the show and promises to be a worthwhile watch as Netflix’s Vice President of Stand-Up and Comedy Formats, Robbie Praw, testifies to her prowess.

Ellen has been repentant of her terrible actions, having apologised to her former employees, and producers Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman and Jonathan Norman who all exited the show. She also clarified that her decision to end The Ellen DeGeneres Show had nothing to do with the accusations like people thought.
