Celine Dion Tears Up As She Promises Fans Another Performance Amid SPS Battle

Celine Dion is not giving up on her music career despite being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in 2022, leading to a halt on her world tour and stage performances. The singer’s condition has affected her ability to use her vocal cords and control her muscles, as she often experiences painful spasms and rigidity.

Celine has been open about her health ever since, providing updates on social media and creating awareness about the rare condition, which reportedly affects twice as many women than men. Although chances of Celine performing again remain bleak, the star recently vowed to get back on stage soon no matter what it takes.

While discussing life as an SPS patient with Hoda Kotb for NBC News, Celine revealed her intention to defy all odds and give her fans a show again. She further echoed her resolve, saying she would gladly crawl or talk with her hands if that is what getting back on stage will take. Celine held back tears as she opened up about her health status and how much she misses working.

Staying true to her determined nature, Celine chose to make an inspiring story out of her pain through an upcoming documentary titled I Am: Celine Dion. The film will be available for streaming on Prime Video and will give a peek into “one of the hardest experiences” of her life. The project also shares more about Celine beyond SPS, such as her work ethic and touring wardrobe.

She has chosen to look on the bright side while trying her best to make a comeback through regular physical, vocal, and mental therapy, which she has deemed effective so far. Celine’s sons, René-Charles, and twin boys, Eddie and Nelson, have been supportive of her, for which she remains grateful. The star hopes to make her farewell performance a TV special featuring all her top hits.
