Entertainment power duo Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are the proud parents of three talented children, one of whom is already following in dad’s footsteps. The couple’s youngest daughter, Audrey, shared a video of her covering a Linda Ronstadt song that will have fans utterly enchanted for a long, long time.
A year after their marriage in ‘96, actress Hill and country singer McGraw welcomed their first daughter, Grace, followed a year later by Maggie in ‘98, and finally Audrey in 2001. As April wound to a close, Audrey treated her 107k Instagram followers to a musical treat complete with a moody music video that, despite her song of choice, was quite good.
On April 28, Audrey took to Instagram to share footage of herself covering the Ronstadt hit, “You’re No Good.” Her caption provided the additional context that it was a “Windy sound check yesterday” and the accompanying video confirms it was quite breezy.
But the black and white footage is almost complimented by the gusts of wind that ripple everyone’s hair and clothing for an enhanced dramatic effect, especially the star of the show.
Audrey proves she has musical talent just like her dad but that she has also already come into her own style. One commenter compared the whole atmosphere of the performance to that of Daisy Jones & The Six. Do you agree with the comparison?
With this cover, Audrey joins an esteemed list of artists who have performed their own rendition of “You’re No Good,” including Ronstadt herself. The song was originally penned by Clint Ballard Jr., responsible for several Billboard Hot 100 number-one hits, including “Game of Love,” and even “You’re No Good.”
As for the very first performance, that honor goes to Dee Dee Warwick, who first sang it in 1963. Ronstadt’s version came in ‘74 and quickly became a number one hit in the United States.
Other artists who put forth their own renditions include The Swinging Blue Jeans and Betty Everett, both of which charted. But it’s Audrey’s version that her fans want to hear more of, along with more of her music; Audrey’s social media is already inundated with videos of her musical work and it’s left her followers hungry for more. “I want to hear more music from you, love it!” one gushed. She’s also been urged to “Put songs on iTunes.” Another praised, “Seriously why don’t you have anything on Spotify.”
Not long before this sweet melodious triumph, Audrey also celebrated her birthday last winter. Hill and McGraw were quick to wish her a very happy 22nd back in December of last year, with Hill lovingly calling Audrey “my songbird.”
