Brian Wilson’s Daughters Assure The Public Of His Well-Being Amid Health Issues And Conservatorship

The Beach Boys frontman Brian Wilson recently attended the world premiere screening of the band-based documentary The Beach Boys at the Chinese World Theatre in Hollywood. He arrived in a wheelchair and joined the rest of the legendary group to celebrate the release of their Disney + film.

Along with Brian were his daughters, Carnie Wilson and Wendy Wilson, who gave updates about his health during a chat with Entertainment Tonight’s Ash Crossan. The singer-songwriter’s “major neurocognitive disorder” is being well managed through proper care and daily “physical therapy,” according to Carnie.

Brian Wilson still ‘doing great’ amid health issues and conservatorship

Carnie gushed as she spoke about her father, who received a standing ovation from the crowd as he was wheeled in. After Brian lost his wife Melinda amid his health struggles, he has taken life a little slower and is “spending a lot of time with his children now, his family.” He was also placed under conservatorship with his publicist, Jean Sievers, and manager, LeeAnn Hard.

Wendy also echoed Carnie’s statement, noting that their dad is “doing really good under the circumstances that he’s going through right now.” Brian’s bandmate Mike Love previously clarified that his circumstance is “not so negative as it sounds,” and they hope to make more music with him regardless.

The Beach Boys movie will be available for streaming from May 24. However, it is unknown if Brian’s illness was included in the plot. The film focuses on the rise and lasting legacy of the band, which consisted of Brian, Love, Blondie Chaplin, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, and David Marks, since the early ‘60s. This comes after the release of their first official book of the same name, which covers lyrics, photos, and details about them.

It is a busy period for the men as their Endless Summer Tour continues this week at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and runs all through the summer until October. Sadly, they will likely be on the road without Brian, who they all hope to get in the studio with as soon as possible.
