Hollywood screen goddess Nicole Kidman took a minute or two to pose for a backyard photo in her gold Balenciaga dress before receiving her honor at the American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award gala in Los Angeles. The 56-year-old looked stunning and slim in the bedazzled outfit as she showed off her matching watch and shiny blonde hair in the sun.
The actress shared the photo on her Instagram, with no caption save for her tagging the American Film Institute. Nicole’s followers were rightfully stunned and gushed in comments about how gorgeous she looked in the shiny gown which featured a five-foot train on the red carpet.
Pairing the ensemble with black pointy heels, Nicole strutted upstage to receive the honor, which she regarded as one “beyond my wildest dreams.” “Receiving this award fills me with overwhelming gratitude. To be the first Australian to be honored in this way leaves me speechless,” she stated while announcing her award win last week.
She then thanked AFI “for this amazing honor,” after recalling her upbringing as a “Sydney suburban girl who just wanted to act.”
“To have forged a career by doing what I love is a blessing beyond my dreams,” she added. Shortly after, Nicole shared a throwback photo of her on the set of 1983’s Bush Christmas with the caption, “This 14 year old girl could have never predicted all the talented people she would get to work with and the many different characters she would get to play. So excited to celebrate with so many friends and peers on Saturday with the @AmericanFilmInstitue.”
Blown away by her appearance, Nicole’s fans and followers took to her comments section to praise her youthful look and the jaw-dropping dress. “Quite possibly one of your most stunning looks ever,” someone noted. Actress Sarayu Blue also praised Nicole for her achievement while complimenting her style. “What a beautiful celebration of you and all your brilliance!! You looked absolutely radiant,” she wrote.
Many more noted that the recognition was well-deserved, as Nicole has been in the film industry for over four decades. “NICOLE absolutely stunning! You are my Queen & Idol. I am so so proud and happy. You deserve this so much!!!! I love you, thank you for being a role model to me. You are the best & I love you! Ps. You look stunning,” an inspired user gushed.
