Iconic singer Celine Dion recently posed for Vogue France and her spicy snaps from the magazine cover shoot have left fans in awe. The “My Heart Will Go On” singer took to Instagram via a collaborative post from the outlet captioned, “She’s back!” featuring Dion wearing nothing but an oversized unbuttoned shirt with a hand over her exposed bosom. She also wore small white shorts, and what appeared to be thin stockings as the camera caught her in an artful position. For accessories, Dion kept it simple with a pair of small hoops and opted for a short blunt bob as well.
“@CelineDion is making her big comeback on the cover of our May issue,” the magazine’s statement further reads, quoting the music legend. “‘I’m honored to be doing a photo shoot for Vogue France. I’m very proud that, at 55, I’ve been asked to reveal my beauty. But what is beauty? Beauty is you, it’s me, it’s what’s inside, it’s our dreams, it’s today. Today, I’m a woman who is feeling strong and positive about the future. One day at a time.’”

This breathtaking photo comes amid Dion’s battle with Stiff Person’s Syndrome (SPS), which she made public in 2022, after which she canceled all upcoming performances last May due to her inability to sing and walk. Her sister, Claudette Dion further explained the intensity of the rare disease, which the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke describes as a “neurological disorder with features of an autoimmune disease that causes the body to become rigid and more sensitive to noise, touch and emotional distress.”

“She works hard, but she has no control over her muscles. What makes me sad is that she was also so disciplined. Vocal cords are muscles, but so is the heart. That’s what gets to me. Because it’s a one-in-a-million case, scientists don’t have that much research on the topic, because it didn’t affect that many people,” Claudette explained last December.
Regardless of the hit to her career, Dion hopes to get back to performing someday and now focuses on using her platform to create awareness about the condition, which reportedly affects more women than men. “Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible,” she admitted on International SPS Awareness Day in March.
How is Celine Dion doing?
Whilst taking an indefinite hiatus from music, Dion is currently working on her Prime Video documentary titled I Am: Celine Dion, which will give viewers an insight into her life, challenges, and her recent struggles with SPS. The film, which is slated for release in June, is “a snapshot of a pivotal time” in Dion’s life as she “navigates her journey toward living an open and authentic life amidst illness.”
“I haven’t beat the disease, as it’s still within me and always will be. I hope that we’ll find a miracle, a way to cure it with scientific research, but for now, I have to learn to live with it. So that’s me, now with Stiff Person Syndrome,” she told Vogue France, adding that now undergoes “athletic, physical and vocal training five days a week. I work on my toes, my knees, my calves, my fingers, my singing, my voice…I have to learn to live with it now and stop questioning myself.”
The five-time Grammy winner now finds solace when she is “at home,” and would “listen to my songs, stand in front of my mirror and sing to myself.” “The way I see it, I have two choices. Either I train like an athlete and work super hard, or I switch off and it’s over,” she explained, noting with optimism that she would love to “see the Eiffel Tower again.”
The singer also acknowledges her privilege which includes having access to “the love of my family and my children, the love of the fans too, and the support of my team,” as well as “good doctors and good treatments,” which some people “who suffer from SPS may not be lucky enough or have the means to have. I have those means, and this is a gift. What’s more, I have this strength within me. I know that nothing is going to stop me.”
The legendary vocalist revealed that she currently lives in Las Vegas, in the house she got “when my eldest son was one, twenty-two years ago today,” and stays just “35 minutes away from work.”
“That gives me the time to get ready to go to work. I can see my team, we joke around with each other, we rehearse singing. And then that gives me the chance to get on the road. I eat in the car, I get home, I see my children, and I can sleep in my own bed. I have the best of both worlds,” she gushed.
How many kids does Celine Dion have?
Dion is a mother to three boys from her marriage to René Angélil, who doubled as her manager until he died in 2016. She had her first son, Rene-Charles in 2001, and her twin boys, Nelson and Eddy in 2010 after six rounds of IVF and a miscarriage. Her sons grew up comfortable in the spotlight as Dion would often let them watch her perform.
“It was the only time I felt nauseous before a show. My son was going to be there looking at me as a performer and not as a mom reading stories at bedtime,” she once said of René-Charles, who is now carving his path in music as well. His first two releases topped SoundCloud’s R&B & Soul New & Hot chart, stunning Dion and her fans.
“I just felt like keeping it on the low. But she loved it. She was just kind of stunned at first because she’d never heard anything from me,” he told the Montreal Gazette at the time. Dion has been proudly supportive ever since, and often shares his music for her followers to stream on social media. “I’m so proud of my son. My love for him is so strong, and it touches me deeply that one of his passions is also one of mine,” she stated in 2021, following the release of René-Charles’ EP titled Casino 5.
Dion’s last two kids, Nelson and Eddy turned 13 last October and only got to spend the first five years of their life with their late father. Following Angelil’s death, Dion threw a party with the theme of Disney’s Up to explain that their beloved dad had floated away in the balloons. “I did not want to relate the passing to doctors and have them be afraid. It’s the thing I’m most proud of. “We have a little ritual where we say goodnight to him with a little picture. Then the kids talk to him. And they write words, put them in balloons and we send the balloons to the sky,” she shared during a chat with PEOPLE.
