OJ Simpson’s Former Agent Claims The Late Actor Confessed He Killed Ex-Wife

Former American football player and actor, OJ Simpson gained national attention primarily due to his tumultuous legal saga during the 1990s. Simpson was arrested in 1994 and indicted for the brutal murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. The subsequent trial, famously dubbed the “Trial of the Century,” held the entire country spellbound as it unfolded in real-time on television screens across America.

Simpson was acquitted of the murder charges after the trial ended in 1995. However, despite the criminal verdict, the legal saga continued with a civil trial in 1997 and Simpson was found liable for the deaths, and was ordered to pay substantial financial damages to the families of the victims, further fueling the controversy and media frenzy surrounding the case. Following Simpson’s death a week ago at 76, rumors are making rounds on the internet indicating that the late actor once confessed to the crime.

Simpson’s former sports agent Mike Gilbert’s 2008 book, How I Helped OJ Get Away With Murder: The Shocking Inside Story of Violence, Loyalty, Regret and Remorse, has resurfaced sparking comments from netizens about his revelation about Simpson’s confession to the murder.

In the book, Gilbert narrated how Simpson recounted the events of June 12, 1994, revealing that after taking a sleeping pill and indulging in marijuana and beer at his home in Brentwood, California, he fatally attacked his ex-wife. He purportedly claimed that Nicole’s death was a result of her brandishing a knife at him, asserting, “If Nicole hadn’t opened that door with a knife in her hand, she’d still be alive.”

Simpson was ultimately acquitted of the murders when it became evident that his hand did not seem to match the blood-stained glove discovered at his property on the day of his arrest for the suspected killings of Nicole and Ron. This discovery prompted his defense team, comprised of renowned lawyers like Robert Shapiro, Robert Kardashian, Alan Dershowitz, and Johnnie Cochran, to push for his acquittal.

However, Gilbert further revealed that he was the brain behind the circumstantial evidence that got him acquitted. The sports agent claimed he advised Simpson on how to make his hand swollen so that the blood-stained glove which was recovered at the murder scene wouldn’t fit during the trial.
