Dennis Quaid turned 70 on April 9, however, he opted for a more solemn family time instead of a big celebration. “It was kind of quiet at home,” he told Fox News Digital. “My wife got together little videos from everybody I know and love and they said something nice about me because there was a camera.”
The 70-year-old known for his comedic brilliance, didn’t fail to bring some humor to his solemn birthday celebration as he joked that, “it was a little bit like being at your own funeral,” but noted that he had a nice time celebrating it in private with his loving family.
With almost fifty years of a successful Hollywood career, Dennis has much to be thankful for as he enters his seventies. His unique approach to trying out different movie roles and embodying different characters established him as a versatile actor. “I take everything as it comes along,” he once said, noting his openness to embracing different roles. “It seems like the characters find me.”
The father of three added that he enjoys acting “now more than ever” despite old age. He claims with acting comes peace for him and he is still actively involved in it because he “love[s] it,” despite the “many humbling experiences.”
While reminiscing about his life, Dennis admits he would have advised his younger self to take things slowly and watch life evolve while claiming, “There’s a lot of things that I would have done differently.” However, the actor has no regrets about his past decisions and experiences because of the lessons he got from them.
Dennis isn’t ready to retire anytime soon and still maintains his youthful energy despite aging. He recently captivated fans with his appearance in the 2023 movie, The Long Game, which tells the story of how Mexican-American boys who worked as caddies on a golf course eventually break through racial barriers to play the sport themselves.
