by Peace A

Published April 10, 2024

With anticipation up for Disney Plus’ The Beach Boys documentary, the new trailer release features the band’s music, drama, and brotherhood in two minutes through a peek into interviews, performances, and chats with industry friends of the band.

Group member Brian Wilson expressed nostalgia and appreciation for their story being told during a recent chat with Variety. “I’m super happy with the way the documentary turned out; they did an amazing job. It really brought me back to those days with the boys, the fun and the music,” he said. “And, of course, those incredible harmonies.”

The upcoming documentary will also show revelations “from the group’s Carl and Dennis Wilson in their own words, plus view a new interview with Blondie Chaplin and hear audio from Ricky Fataar.” The two-minute trailer ended with a display of the band’s achievements, including having the most Top 40 songs, selling over 100 million records, and thriving for over 60 years.

Sadly, the late Beach Boys Arl Dean Wilson and Dennis Wilson are not alive to witness their story being told on Disney+; however, their legacy lives on. The official soundtrack from the film will be available for streaming and download in May, while the group’s 1964 album Shut Down Vol. 2 is out in limited edition blue and white marble vinyl, as is their only official book, The Beach Boys by The Beach Boys.
