Guitarist and artist Micki Free shared a rare photo of Johnny Depp that left his fans bewildered and wondering if it was him or not. The caption to the picture featuring Micki and “Johnny” shaking hands read, “Me and cousin Johnny at The Palms in Las Vegas last night!!! HAVE MERCY!”
Other slides showed both men with their arms around each other and speaking while the snaps were taken. Johnny wore a black T-shirt with matching jeans, heavy jewelry, including necklaces and rings, a brimmed hat, and dark eyeliner. Micki went colorful with a red vest, floral red jacket, and matching brimmed hat and did not hold back on accessorizing either.
Johnny Depp or not?
Fans argued in the comments whether Micki posed with the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory star or not. “That doesn’t even look close to Johnny. Is that the original one?????” someone asked. “Doesn’t even look like the same person! Wow!” another exclaimed. A few were convinced it was not their beloved actor in the photo and dismissed the idea. “No way!!!” a fan snapped.

For some who were sure it was the film icon, the 2022 post made them sad and reminiscent of Johnny’s former self. “Wow, he used to be good-looking and masculine,” a disheartened user stated, alongside an old photo of the actor sporting suave short hair and dark shades. “Is it really him? Omg. That’s sad,” another quipped.
What happened to Johnny Depp?
It is rumored that Johnny’s contrasting look has to do with his affiliation with the Comanche tribe and Micki’s sister, LaDonna Harris, a direct relative of the Great War chief Quanah Parker Comanche. “When Johnny Depp did ‘The Lone Ranger’ in 2012, I think it was, LaDonna adopted Johnny in the Comanche nation…So that made Johnny my cousin Comanche way because of our sisters,” Micki explained via TikTok.
Johnny was inducted into the Comanche nation in Lawton, Oklahoma, as an honorary member while working on the Saturn Awards-nominated film The Lone Ranger. The actor is genuinely involved with the Native American community, hence the change in his appearance, which acknowledges his heritage. The 60-year-old has favored a more serene lifestyle away from the Hollywood buzz in his quiet English countryside home in Somerset. “I just love places with character. In truth, I’m quite a shy person,” he explained.
