Co-stars Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis from the 1991 film Thelma & Louis reunited recently at the ‘90s Con in Connecticut. Both ladies looked stunning in matching outfits, with Susan donning a leather jacket and a turtleneck sweater. Geena opted for a white shirt and striped black suit with minimalist jewelry.

The gorgeous-looking ladies were joined on stage by Mira Sorvino, who wore a denim dress, a leather jacket, and metallic pale pink boots. The audience listened attentively as Susan and the other panelists addressed them.

Celebrating ‘Thelma & Louise’ 33 years later

Thelma & Louise is of great cultural significance as a landmark feminist movie and one that gave movie star Brad Pitt his first major film role. The film, about two best friends going fishing and getting caught up in a manhunt, was a box office success, making $45.4 million against its $16.5 million production budget.

Sarandon and Davis also received Academy Award nominations in the Best Actress category for their performances as the lead characters. Thelma & Louise has also been adapted into a stage musical starring Amanda Seyfried and Evan Rachel Wood, and Susan thought both actresses were “great.” Amanda addressed the pressure to meet the original’s standards, saying she is “not scared at all.”

The 30th anniversary of Thelma & Louise was marked by a special drive-in charity screening of the classic, where Susan and Geena shared a kiss. They both wore tops that said, ‘She’s my Thelma & I’m her Louise,’ and raised money for The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

Years later, both ladies are back again attending the ‘90s Con, co-founded by Christina Figliolia and Liliana Kligman, with stars like Alyssa Milano, Marisa Tomei, Danielle Fishel, Patrick Duffy, Melissa Joan Hart, James Van Der Beek, Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin and many more. PEOPLE’s Editor-in-Chief, Wendy Naugle, emphasized that “the ’90s were a transformational decade in film, music, television, and culture” and deserved to be celebrated.
