After years of meticulously planning and eagerly anticipating each family trip to various Disney Parks across the globe, a netizen, Ash Jurberg, yearned for more adventure. He and his wife decided to embark on a journey to Dollywood, nestled in the charming town of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, for a change of scenery.

For Jurberg, despite having been to over 107 countries and having various Disney park experiences, visiting Dollywood was the height of it all, as he had nothing but good memories and words for the park’s layout, attractions, and atmosphere.

The passionate explorer revealed that visiting Dollywood was relatively easy as the park opened its gates later in the day and had little or no crowd. “Right off the bat, our day started less stressful as the park didn’t open until 11 a.m. when we visited. We slept in and enjoyed a nice breakfast. There were very few crowds when we arrived at Dollywood around opening time,” he shared. “This was so different from Disney, where we sometimes get to the gates around 7 a.m. to join crowds trying to enter the parks right when they open at 8.”

He also explained that he and his wife could make reservations at popular attractions without wasting much time. “At Dollywood, we got Timesaver Passes — about $60 per person — which allowed us to skip the queues at five attractions and reserve seats at popular shows,” the guest added. “This saved us time and meant we weren’t glued to our phones all day to check wait times for attractions. We could slowly meander around the park and enjoy the theming and surrounding landscapes.

Disney guests say Dollywood is more economical

The visitor mentioned that compared to the prices at Disney Parks, Dollywood offered a more budget-friendly experience. Despite Dolly Parton’s park featuring a range of merchandise, the visitors found they could still make purchases at a comparatively lower cost than at Disney.

“There were plenty of merchandise stores offering all things Parton, but the push to spend money wasn’t as intense as it can be at Disney,” he confessed. “I still bought a Dollywood T-shirt, but spent far less in the gift stores than I usually do at theme parks.”
