As veteran Hollywood actress Tippi Hedren turned 94 a few weeks ago, her daughter Melanie Griffith celebrated with a fun note and rare photos of the Marnie star. “Yesterday Mom, aka MorMor, turned 94!! Always up for a party! Happy Birthday, Mama Tippi,” Melanie’s caption read.

Speaking of being a matriarch to a line of powerful women in the entertainment industry, Hedren has laid a solid foundation for her daughter and granddaughter, Dakota Johnson, to build on.

Melanie expressed that her mom greatly inspires her, as her daughter is by her during an interview with Vanity Fair after Hedren’s 2016 memoir release. “The three generations just made me think about Mom, born in 1930, and me, in the ’50s, and Dakota, in the ’80s,” she said. “The progression of life is really beautiful. She became an example of what to never let happen in my life. Hopefully, I’ve passed that on to Dakota— to be strong in your work and in yourself.”
