Mother and daughter

Melanie is undoubtedly inspired by her mother, who she admits is her role model. The Working Girl star also attempted to instill the values she learned from Hedren into her own daughter. “Hopefully, I’ve passed that on to Dakota — to be strong in your work and in yourself,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

Griffith’s second child, Dakota — whom she shares with two-time ex-husband Don Johnson, has starred in films like Fifty Shades Of Grey, Persuasion, The Social Network, and many more, including this year’s Madame Web. “The three generations just made me think about Mom, born in 1930, and me, in the ’50s, and Dakota, in the ’80s,” Melanie gushed in a 2016 interview with Vanity Fair. “The progression of life is really beautiful.”
